Blue honeysuckle

Lonicera coerulea L.

Back to catalogue

Family Caprifoliaceae. Upper reaches of the Dniester River, the Carpathians, the Alps, central part of France. Protected in nature reserves. In the understory of mountain forests, in moist places along forest margins, in swamps, on slopes. In the wild it occurs throughout the northern part of the European portion of Russia, but, unfortunately, it has been hardly introduced into the landscaping of central regions, although this remarkable honey-producing shrub is very suitable for forming living dense non-thorny hedges, margins, and attractive bushy groups.
