Family Polemoniaceae. Flora of North America has given gardeners this charming little annual plant.

Its height is only 20 - 30 cm. Stems are hung with whorls of narrow, needle-like dark-green leaves. The plants appear prickly to the touch, but when touched are soft and fuzzy. Flowers are large, resembling wide funnels, their diameter 3 - 3.5 cm, gathered in corymb-like inflorescences. The corolla color is pale pink, inside the funnel - white. There are garden forms with white flowers, as well as a dwarf variety (var. nana hort.). Linanthus hybrid - Linanthus x hybridus = Leptosiphon

Location: Linanthus is cold-hardy, drought-tolerant and sun-loving. But it also grows well and blooms abundantly in partial shade.

Propagation: by seed. There are up to 3,000 seeds per 1 g. To obtain 100 plants you need 0.1 g of seeds. Sow directly into the ground in early spring (early May). Seedlings appear after 6-10 days. Thin them, leaving 10 - 15 cm between plants. You can sow in clusters of 3 - 4 seeds. Plants begin to flower in mid-June and flower until the first frosts. Plants are very undemanding and require no special care.

Uses: Linanthus is very attractive in borders. It can be grown in rock gardens and on slopes, as well as in pots and garden vases.
