Figwort family The genus of aquatic and marsh plants Limnophila (Limnophila) belongs to the Figwort family - Scrophulariaceae. Species of the genus Limnophila (Limnophila) are distributed in tropical and subtropical regions of the world.

Leaves of Limnophila are arranged in whorls. Submerged leaves are finely dissected, aerial (emergent) leaves are lanceolate with toothed margins. Flowering occurs above the water.

Propagation is by seed or cuttings. Cuttings of Limnophila root easily.

Recommended for decorating aquariums and ponds.

Considering that during cutting Limnophila releases substances toxic to fish, rooting of cuttings should be carried out in a separate aquarium.
