Ligularia Hesse
Ligularia x hessei
Family: Asteraceae. It is a hybrid of ligularias of dentata and wilsoniana (Ligularia dentata (A. Gray) H. Hara x wilsoniana (Hemsl.) Greenm.).
In appearance this hybrid is closer to Ligularia dentata - the heads are gathered into a large, corymb-like but looser inflorescence. Daisy-like flowers about 5 cm in diameter. Leaves cordate-triangular, the clump is dense and vigorous with a diameter of more than 1 m and a height of over 2 m. Ligularia Hesse blooms in August for 30-40 days. There are cultivars that differ in height, foliage color, flower stalks and inflorescence shape: 'Laternchen', 'Gregynog Gold'.
