Ligularia przewalskii

Back to catalogue

Family Asteraceae. Native to Mongolia, northern China.

Perennial herbaceous plant up to 150 cm tall. It is distinguished by graceful, deeply divided, sharply palmate leaves on slender reddish-brown petioles. The flower heads are small, yellow, gathered in spike-like, narrow inflorescences up to 50-70 cm long, the tips of which are slightly pendulous. In terms of flowering time this is one of the early ligularias: its flowering begins in late June and continues for about 30 days. It is recommended to plant in moist, fertile soil. It looks best near bodies of water and in large flower beds. It combines beautifully with Aruncus 'Zweiweltenkind'.
