Indoor plants
Lemon
Lemon
Family Rutaceae. An evergreen plant. Flowers several times a year. Fragrant flowers. Bright yellow fruits form mainly on branches no lower than the fourth order. Fruits develop on short branchlets — fruit spurs. A ripe fruit can remain on the plant for up to two years, turning green in color and then becoming yellow-golden again.
Meyer lemon. Characterized by dwarf growth and good fruiting. The taste of the fruits is more acidic than that of other lemon varieties, and its fruits are eaten unripe. The remontancy, earliness, and abundant fruiting of the Meyer lemon make it interesting for indoor cultivation.
Pavlovsky lemon. A shade-tolerant small tree 1.5—2.0 m tall. Fruits weigh up to 150 g, but can be around 500 g. Thin-skinned and fragrant. This lemon is easily propagated vegetatively under indoor conditions. Of all known lemons it is the most adapted to indoor culture.
Novogruzinsky lemon has a delicate strong aroma. Fruits are almost seedless. It begins fruiting later than the Pavlovsky lemon. Blooms and fruits throughout the year (remontant variety). Trees are vigorous with a spreading crown and many thorns.
Genoa. A weak-growing tree without thorns. A very productive variety. Fruit quality is higher than that of other varieties. Blooms several times a year.
