Appearance: a large shrub or small tree, height 5 – 7 m, width 3 – 4 m, main stems grow upright, branches pendulous, medium- or fast-growing.
Flowers: yellow racemose pendulous inflorescences, late May – June.
Fruits: resemble beans, poisonous.
Leaves: compound, with three leaflets, green.
Root system: relatively shallow or spreading,
Requirements: sun/partial shade, heat-loving, relatively hardy, sensitive to wind.
Soils: dry or moist, loams, prefers alkaline substrates.
Note: ages quickly, should be replaced after 15-20 years, does not tolerate heavy pruning.
