Wood-rush (woodrush-like)
L. luzuloides
Family Juncaceae. A long-rhizomed perennial from the forests of the Carpathians. A tall plant (50 - 60 cm during flowering), decorative from snow to snow, with attractive winter-green, stiffly hairy leaves.
Blooms for about 30 days from the beginning of June, propagates by seed sown in autumn or by self-seeding, producing abundant seedlings. Division of the clump is also possible for propagation. The plant can be weedy and is damaged by severe frosts in snowless winters. Very promising for group plantings in shade and partial shade on loose soils.
