Kalanchoe

Family Crassulaceae. Native to southern and southeastern Asia and South America. These are succulent plants that have been grown in Russia for a very long time and are cultivated both as ornamental flowering plants and as medicinal plants.

Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana - Kalanchoe blossfeldiana - a small shrub about 30 cm high with opposite rounded leaves, wavy at the edges. The flowers are small - about 1 cm in diameter - bright red, striking in umbel-like inflorescences. Flowering from March to June, very abundant. There are cultivars with orange, yellow and other colored flowers.

Kalanchoe Manginii - Kalanchoe manginii - has small lanceolate leaves up to 2.5 cm long, and bell-shaped orange-red flowers that nod on long pedicels.

Kalanchoe Daigremontiana - Kalanchoe daigremontiana - often called the plant "Doctor" - a larger plant with narrowly ovate leaves (an elongated triangular shape), up to 15-20 cm long, grayish-green in color, with purple spots on the underside. In the depressions along the toothed margin numerous plantlets form, which easily fall off and root.
