Ipomoea

Ipomoea

Back to catalogue
Family Convolvulaceae. Ipomoea from Greek 'ips' - worm and 'homoios' - similar - referring to the structure of the underground rhizome of many original species. Until recently the name Ipomoea was associated only with balcony and garden horticulture. But recently amazingly vines have appeared for sale that grow not from the ground but from a curious tuber.

It is this «tuber» — which sometimes is not a tuber at all but a whole «gourd» or «bottle» — that represents the value for potted Ipomoea culture. Unfortunately, literature rarely contains descriptions and care recommendations for this caudiciform vine. Therefore here we will talk specifically about it – about the caudiciform form of potted Ipomoea.
