Family: Asteraceae. Native to the Caucasus and Asia Minor.
Perennial plant with erect stems up to 70 cm tall. Leaves oblong-spatulate. Inflorescences - flower heads 9-10 cm in diameter. Ray (ligulate) flowers dark yellow, very thin, long; tubular (disk) flowers yellow. Blooms in July-August. Produces fruit. In cultivation since 1804.
