Family Limnocharitaceae. The genus has 3 species. They occur in South America.

A beautiful aquatic plant suitable for decorating small pools in the southern part of the country in summer. It is planted in a container with fertile soil, which is placed in a well-sunlit spot at a depth of up to 60 cm. For the winter, plants in shallow vessels with clayey soil are kept in a very shallow enclosed body of water in a bright room at a water temperature of 8-12° C. Propagation is by division of offshoots and by sowing seeds.
