Family Campanulaceae. Grows in Siberia, in Central Asia, Western Europe.
Stem erect, unbranched, 40-60 cm tall. Leaves basal and cauline or ovate-lanceolate, rather large. Flowers sessile, 1-1.5 cm in diameter, dark lilac. Blooms in June-July. Fruits. Easily propagated by seed. Undemanding with regard to soils, drought-tolerant, frost-hardy. Grows in open areas. Used in landscaping and partly as a cut flower.
