G. malviflorum

Back to catalogue

Family Geraniaceae. A garden form of geranium originating from southern Spain.

It reaches a height of 30 cm and has large, finely divided leaves. Its large (about 4–5 cm in diameter) blue-violet flowers with dark veins appear on the plants from April to June. The above-ground parts die back in summer but regrow in autumn, so the plants overwinter with leaves. They prefer a sunny position and soil poor in organic matter. They grow well in rock gardens and between paving slabs.
