Appearance: a medium-sized shrub, 2-4 m in height and width, broad, upright-growing, branch tips pendulous, fast-growing.
Flowers: golden-yellow, widely open bell-shaped flowers, blooms before leaf emergence, faint fragrance.
Fruits: of little ornamental value.
Leaves: ovate, after flowering pale green, in autumn – bronze-red or yellowish-green.
Root system: shallow, sensitive to soil compaction and mechanical damage.
Requirements: sun/partial shade, relatively winter-hardy, may suffer frost damage down to the snow level.
Soils: any garden soils, relatively dry to fresh; avoid drought.
Note: very ornamental plants, tolerates pruning.
