Red fescue

Family Poaceae. A low-growing perennial plant that forms a large number of offshoot shoots and a highly branched root system which densely penetrates and binds the soil. Forms a firm, resilient turf. The sward is dark green, denser and more even than that of meadow grass. Leaves are channeled, 1-2 mm wide. Fills bare patches in lawns on its own.

In the first year it grows slowly and is fully established by the second to third year.
