Flowers for the garden
Фелиция
Felicia
Family Asteraceae. This annual plant was introduced to Europe from Africa.
It reaches only 20–25 cm in height; the stem is strongly branched, so it occupies 40 - 50 cm in width. The leaves are small, bluish-green. Numerous flower-heads, like little stars, are scattered over a soft cushion of leaves. The diameter of the heads is 2 - 5.5 cm. The ray flowers are narrow, like rays, colored blue with a faint lilac tint. The tubular flowers in the center of the head are yellow.
Location: фелиция prefers a sunny site and fertile soils. It is fairly cold-hardy and not drought-tolerant.
Care: In a dry, hot summer water as the soil dries; this will make the flowering especially abundant and longer-lasting.

Propagation: by seeds. There are 5,500 ~ 5,700 seeds in 1 g. To obtain 100 plants you need 0.1 g of seed. They are sown directly into the ground early in spring, at the end of May. It is better to sow in clusters of 3 - 5 seeds at a spacing of 25 - 30 cm from each other. Seedlings appear within 7-15 days. The plants bloom at the end of June, about 50 days after emergence, and flower very abundantly until the first frosts. They can also be grown from seedlings.
Use: фелиция is suitable for rock gardens, planted in small groups in mixed borders, or as an edging along a path.
