Echinopsis

Echinopsis

Back to catalogue
Family Cactaceae. Probably the most common cactus here. This group of cacti includes more than 50 species; there are many hybrids in cultivation, which makes their identification difficult. Young Echinopsis are spherical, then elongate and the mature plant has a cylindrical stem. Flowers are large, long-tubular, mainly white, sometimes fragrant. They have a tendency to form many offsets.

Sharp-ribbed Echinopsis - Echinopsis oxigona - with a large green globular stem, spines whitish up to 1.5 cm long. Flowers pink to pink-red.
