Family Asteraceae. The pubescent species is distributed in the alpine and subalpine belts of Europe, where it grows on high-mountain meadows.

Plant height 10-30 cm. The upper part of the flowering stem is more densely pubescent, as if protecting the solitary yellow head (capitulum) 3.5 to 6 cm in diameter, which appears in July-August. The leaves are shaped like a serrated spearhead. The leaves are also covered with hairs that along the margins look like cilia. The rhizome is creeping, short and thin.
