Deutzia vilmorinae Lemoine
Family Hydrangeaceae. Native range Central and Western China.
Shrub up to 2 m tall, with light-brown, later peeling bark. Young shoots stellate-pubescent. Oblong-lanceolate leaves up to b cm long, acute at the apex, finely serrate at the margin; above green, rough, below grayish-green, densely covered with radiating hairs. Flowers white, up to 2.5 cm in diameter, arranged in corymb-like inflorescences. Blooms in June for about 20 days.
Used in solitary and group plantings. In cultivation since 1897.
