Кроссандра
Crossandra Salisb.
Family Rosaceae. The genus includes about 50 species of evergreen shrubs and subshrubs from the forest belt of the Arabian Peninsula, tropical Africa, Madagascar, India and Sri Lanka.
Кроссандра begins to bloom within a few months and flowers from spring until autumn. Кроссандра requires humid air and fares poorly if it is not misted daily and not surrounded by other plants. Flowering will last longer if faded flowers are removed promptly.
Location of кроссандры: from bright to partially shaded, but protected from the sun in summer. It must not be taken outdoors. The plant is kept in winter at 16-18 degrees. Light-loving.
Watering of кроссандры: limited during the rest period, with soft water at room temperature. The plant should be frequently sprayed, avoiding water on the leaves and flowers. It is better to place the pot in a moist substrate.
Propagated by green cuttings. Phytohormones and bottom heat are used to root cuttings. Young plants should be pinched. Seeds are sown at a temperature of 16 degrees.
