Back to catalogue

Family Crassulaceae. Crassula or Money Tree - a tree-like plant native to South Africa. It has dark green leaves, sometimes with a red margin along the edge.

The flowers are small, collected in subumbels or panicles.

Temperature: From November to February it prefers cooler conditions: temperature around 15 °С.

Light: Placement - a bright and sunny spot; a sufficient amount of light is required throughout the year.

Watering: Limited. If the plant overwinters in the cold, it almost does not need watering.

Humidity: Does not require misting.

Feeding: From late spring to mid-summer feed once a month with a special fertilizer for cacti and other succulents.

Repotting: Repotting is required once every two years in spring, into soil for cacti, to which expanded clay is added.

Propagation: By leaves and stem cuttings. Both leaves and cuttings are dried. They are also propagated by seeds, but much less often.

Possible problems: The main danger for Crassula is excess moisture, which leads to rotting of the root system and the base of the stem.
