Coffee
Coffea
Family Rubiaceae. Native to Africa and Asia. About 40 species in the wild. Arabian coffee or coffee arabica Coffea arabica is an evergreen tree, reaching 4 m in the wild. Although in cultivation a dwarf variety is more common, growing to only about 1 m in height.
The leaf surface is dark green, leathery. Flowers are axillary, fragrant, gathered in groups of 5-6 on short pedicels. The corolla is five-petaled, white. The fruits are berries with 2-3 seeds, appearing only on mature plants. Flowering occurs in April - May.
Temperature: Moderate, in winter around 14-15°C, but not below 12°C.
Light: The coffee tree is light-loving, but shading from direct sunlight is required in spring and summer.
Watering: Abundant in summer, moderate in winter, taking into account the temperature indoors. The soil should be kept moist at all times. Avoid excessive wetness and drying out of the substrate.
Fertilizer: During the growing period from April to September feed every two weeks with liquid fertilizers for houseplants. You may use "Raduga", "Ideal", "Ispolin", "Uniflor Rost" and others.
Humidity: The coffee tree requires high air humidity - spray it more often with warm, soft water.
