Clivia

Clivia

Back to catalogue
Family Amaryllidaceae. Native to South Africa. Clivia will bloom year after year if watered properly and not kept in a warm room for the winter. It needs quite a lot of space, and in winter it requires a period of rest in a cool room with very limited watering. Clivia does not like being disturbed - being touched unnecessarily or moved from place to place.

Clivia is a very long-lived plant; under suitable conditions it can live up to 40 years. Old plants growing in tubs are not repotted, they are only fed with fertilizers. The best specimens among old plants can produce up to 40-50 flower scapes.
