Cimicifuga dahurica (Turcz.) Maxim
Family Ranunculaceae. Native range - Transbaikal, the Far East, Northeastern China. In light forests, at forest edges.
Plant perennial herbaceous. Rhizome thick, many-headed. Stems up to 100 cm tall, glabrous to the base of the inflorescence, only slightly pubescent at the nodes. Leaves large, ternately pinnate; leaf segments ovate, acuminate, pinnately incised or pinnately divided in the lower part, margins deeply serrate, on petioles or sessile. Inflorescence - simple or compound raceme; the axis of the inflorescence and the pedicels covered with short gray hairs and dense glandular pubescence. Bracts linear, acuminate. Flowers unisexual. Petals-nectaries forkedly 2-parted, at the apex bearing empty anthers. Stamens numerous. Follicles 3-4 in number, on short stalks, almost glabrous, with a thick curved beak. Flowers in July-August. Fruits. In cultivation since 1835.
