Perennial herbaceous plant 90-150 cm tall. Leaves matte dark green. Flowers very small, silvery-white to cream-colored, gathered into very attractive long and narrow raceme-like inflorescences of cylindrical form. Blooms in July-August. Produces fruit. In cultivation since 1822.
