Lawson cypress «White Spot» – is a small evergreen tree or large shrub with a narrow, densely branched columnar crown. In cultivation since 1962. It grows to 5 (10) m in height and 2 (3.5) m in width. The plant is slow-growing, with an annual increase up to 15 cm in height and 10 cm in width. It reaches 2 m in height in 10 years.

Structural branches are highly branched, thin, emerge from the trunk at an acute angle, and spread evenly in different directions.

Foliage is scale-like, green, dense, closely appressed to the branches. Young growth is marbled-white or white, greening by winter.

Cones are spherical, with wrinkled scales, reddish-brown, sometimes with a bluish bloom.

Hardiness zone: 5-7

Location: Light-loving; should receive at least 6 hours of sun per day. Grows well on all garden soils that are not very dry and are cultivated, but prefers moist, fresh, nutrient-rich alkaline or sandy-loam soils. Can tolerate calcareous soils.

Planting: Dig a hole at least 50 cm deep and wide. Soil mix: humus, topsoil, peat, sand in the ratio 3:2:1:2. When planting, add mineral fertilizer - 5-6 kg of peat compost, mixing it with the soil.

Pruning: sanitary pruning is applied

Care: In spring you can feed with Kemira (100-150 g), spreading it around the root circle and then watering the plant abundantly. In April-May you can apply nitroammophoska (30-40 g). It is also recommended to add top peat – add it to the surface several times during the season. Autumn fertilization is not recommended.
