Cedar of Lebanon
Cedrus libani
Occurs in Turkey, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as in the mountain forests of the Taurus and Anti-Taurus at altitudes up to 2100 m (the tree line). It was introduced to Europe as early as 1638. The tree reaches a height of 25–40 m; slender, straight, conical in youth, with age, on the contrary, it acquires a flattened, broad, umbrella-shaped crown; often it reaches the same dimensions in width as in height.
