Appearance: very slow-growing, small, compact tree with a rounded crown, 4-6 m in height.

Flowers: does not flower.

Fruits: none.

Leaves: large, cordate, emerge very late, in early June, light green, drop early, autumn colour – yellow.

Root system: deep, unbranched, sensitive to mechanical damage.

Requirements: sun/partial shade, very tolerant of high temperatures and drought, not winter-hardy, sheltered location.

Soils: rich, deep, loamy substrates.
