Family: Cucurbitaceae. a genus of perennial herbaceous plants of the family Cucurbitaceae (which also includes cucumber, pumpkin, watermelon, melon), with a turnip-shaped root, climbing stem and small flowers and fruits.

Description: perennial herbaceous plants with climbing stems and very thick, radish-shaped roots, leaves lobed or divided. Flowers yellowish-green or yellowish-white, gathered in axillary inflorescences. Fruit - a small, up to 1 cm in diameter, spherical berry of black, reddish or greenish color, with a thin skin.
