Japanese Blyxa
Blyxa japonica
Family Hydrocharitaceae. A beautiful plant for planted aquariums, "popularized" by Takashi Amano in his aquarium compositions.
All it needs for its care is good light, CO2 (adding carbon dioxide is necessary for the successful keeping of virtually all aquarium plants) and fertilizers. Prefers a slightly acidic water environment.
In essence, Japanese Blyxa is still a long-stemmed plant, only with very frequently arranged leaf blades, and not a rosette plant, as it might appear at first glance. Under strong lighting young shoots can acquire a reddish tint, but this can also indicate a lack of nutrients.
