Aylostera heliosa or 'Sunny'

Family Cactaceae. Native range - Bolivia.

Stem about 2.5 cm high and 2 cm in diameter, heavily branching. Radial spines up to 39, very small, up to 0.15 cm long, silvery-white, appressed to the stem. Central spines absent. Flowers 4.5-5.5 cm long and up to 4 cm in diameter, orange. A very beautiful Aylostera, described relatively recently, in 1970, but already fairly widely encountered in collections.
