Flowers for the garden
Асперула аркадиенсис
Asperula arcadiensis Sims
Family Rubiaceae. Native to the mountains of Greece.
Perennial plant. A beautiful but rather fastidious species. It spreads into loose cushions approximately 10 cm high. Leaves small, narrow, covered with spreading hairs. The prostrate leafy stems end in 4-10 delicate but fairly large flowers with a long tube. The location should be sheltered from the sun, in a rock crevice. The soil should be calcareous. The plant is very sensitive to wet soil.
