Back to catalogue
Family Aponogetonaceae. Aponogeton leathery-leaved is found in the northwestern part of the island of Madagascar. It is a robust plant with broad, translucent brown-green leaves that, depending on growing conditions, may be slightly wavy.

Aponogeton leathery-leaved grows on stony bottoms in rivers that are fully water-filled year-round with a strong current. The water has the following parameters: pH 5.8-6.2; GH 7.8 °dH; KH 4.6 °dH; conductivity 186 µS/cm at 20 °C, chloride 1.6 mg/l.

Recommended only for large aquariums. Due to the wavy margins it is very decorative. In the aquarium, the plants become most luxuriant when grown in water from soft to moderately hard, from acidic to neutral.
