Aponogeton dvukolosy
Aponogeton distachyos
Family: Aponogetonaceae. Distribution range - South Africa, Peru. It has become established in many countries, including those of Southwestern Europe.
Aponogeton dvukolosy is a two-ranked, wild-growing plant. In its natural habitat Aponogeton dvukolosy grows in dense populations in bodies of water with still or slow-moving water. During drought it sheds its leaves, leaving a tuber in the substrate. When the water body refills it breaks dormancy and begins to grow. This Aponogeton mainly forms floating leaves with petioles up to 1 m long. Leaf blade up to 23 cm long and 7.5 cm wide, neutral green in color.
