The Kutrov family. In nature the Kutrov family comprises over 200 genera and more than 2000 species of various plants. This is a large family of dicotyledons in the form of trees, shrubs and subshrubs, lianas, perennial herbs and even succulents, widespread in tropical and subtropical regions of the world.

Distinctive features can be described as follows: Kutrov plants generally have simple leaves arranged oppositely on the stems.

The plants contain milky sap and poisonous alkaloids. Therefore, getting sap from the stems, leaves or flowers into the mouth can cause not only burns of the mucous membranes but also poisoning. The flowers are solitary or gathered in inflorescences, bisexual. The corolla limb is five-lobed, transitioning into a narrow tube. Most Kutrov species are propagated by stem cuttings in spring and by seeds.

Keep in summer at normal room temperature; in winter in a cool place around 12-14°C.

A location for Kutrov plants is usually chosen in bright, diffused light with some direct sunlight in the morning or evening. For some Kutrov species shading is not required at all. But any plants that have experienced a cloudy winter should be accustomed to the spring sun gradually. In summer, after the threat of severe night frosts has passed, plants can be moved to the garden.

Watering should be abundant in summer, much more moderate in winter depending on indoor temperature, avoiding drying out of the root ball.
