Anguloa
Anguloa
Family Orchidaceae. This genus comprises 11 epiphytic and lithophytic species from the seasonal semi-deciduous tropical forests of the Andes in South America.
Plants have large oval-cylindrical pseudobulbs bearing from two to four large folded leaves. A single-flowered erect inflorescence develops at the base of the pseudobulb. The flowers are waxy; their sepals form a compact, pipe-shaped structure that externally covers all other parts of the flower.
