Aromatic dill

Family of umbellifers. Common names: cucumber caraway, herb for flatulence. Pharmacopeial name: dill fruits - Anethi fructus (formerly: Fructus Anethi).

Botanical description. An umbelliferous plant with finely divided leaves. Its native range is the East. It is cultivated in many countries, including southern Germany. Grown as a culinary herb in vegetable gardens and yards, often naturalizing.

Active constituents: essential and fixed (fat) oils.
