Alternanthera multicolored
Alternanthera versicolor
Family: Amaranthaceae. Native to Brazil.
Some authors consider it a variety of Alternanthera Betzika. A perennial herbaceous or semi-shrub plant up to 15 cm tall. Stems are strongly branched, forming sprawling clumps, the young parts of which are pubescent. Leaves are oblong-spatulate, narrowed to a short petiole, wrinkled, blunt-tipped. Coloration is variegated, a mix of green, red, pink, sometimes yellow. It has many garden forms.
