Family Rosaceae. English roses.

Alan Titchmarsh is a very reliable and hardy variety with slightly arching shoots; when mature it forms a nicely shaped rounded bush, similar to Golden Celebration. If lightly pruned, it grows fairly tall and is suitable for the back of a border. With heavier pruning it will reach a medium height and can then be placed closer to the front. By all indications this rose will become one of the most popular varieties. (AUS)

This variety has fairly large, deep cupped, very double flowers with petals slightly curving inward. Outer petals are pale pink, the central ones much brighter, a glowing warm pink. Side shoots bow to the ground under the weight of flowers in clusters of 3–4, while the central basal shoots carry much larger, very loose clusters, creating a candelabra effect. The flowers have a delicate scent of rose oil with a hint of citrus. Alan Titchmarsh forms a fairly large shrub with elegantly arching, bowing branches, which looks very attractive. New foliage is red, later becoming glossy dark green. Very good disease resistance. (ER)
