Fischer's aconite
Aconitum fischeri Reichenb.
Family: Ranunculaceae. Occurs in the Far East. Grows in deciduous and mixed coastal forests, often in clearings, less often in birch and alder stands, and still less often on grassy slopes.
Perennial herbaceous plant, 100-160 cm tall. Tubers nearly conical; additional tubers develop by autumn; stem round, sturdy, erect, glabrous; leaves deeply and palmately divided into 5-7 lobes, firm, sometimes leathery. Inflorescence a raceme, sometimes lax but more often dense; flowers bright blue, rarely white. Hood dome- to keg-shaped, with a moderately elongated beak, 2–2.4 cm long and 1.5–2 cm wide, up to 1.5–1.8 cm high; spur short (1–1.5 mm), capitate. Flowers from July to October.
