Flowers: Inconspicuous, dioecious.
Fruits: Unattractive.
Leaves: Odd-pinnate, 3-5 leaflets, light green with white patches, yellowish-green in winter.
Root system: Shallow, slow-growing, relatively sensitive.
Requirements: Sun/light partial shade; may suffer frost damage in severe cold; tolerant of urban conditions; choose a sheltered site.
Soils: From fresh to moist, well-drained soils.
Note: Removal of shoots with normal green leaves is necessary; the best time for cutting is summer and autumn.
