A tree 5-6 (8) m tall, crown width 4-10 m. A large shrub or small tree, in plants with multiple trunks – a broad umbrella-shaped crown; with a single trunk the crown is broadly conical; fast-growing, in the first 20 years growth 30-50 cm.

Flowers: Greenish-white inflorescences with a light fragrance.

Fruits: When ripening in summer red, then brown.

Leaves: Three-lobed, green, glossy; autumn color ranging from bright orange to red.

Root system: Shallow, dense.

Requirements: Sun/partial shade, very hardy, tolerant of urban conditions, wind-resistant.

Soils: Any fresh soils that are not strongly alkaline.
