Family: maples. Native range - Turkey, Armenia. Usually grows in shrub thickets and on dry slopes.

Shrub or small tree 3-4 m tall. At 5 years: height 2.1 m, crown diameter 90 cm. Grows quickly. Blooms in the second ten-day period of May, for 7-10 days. Produces fruit annually from age 10; fruits ripen in September. Winter hardiness high; in harsher winters it is partially frost-damaged. Seed viability 50%.
