A small to medium-sized tree, 8–10 (12) m tall, 4–6 m wide; crown shape initially compact, conical, in older trees broadly ovate; branches directed upward, lateral shoots arching; growth 20–40 cm per year.

Fruits: Inconspicuous

Leaves: Smaller than the original species, dark green, leathery, bright yellow or yellowish-green in autumn.

Root system: Deep, dense; insensitive, slow-growing.

Requirements: Avoid dense shade; easily adapts, suitable for urban conditions, wind-resistant.

Soils: Does not like waterlogged, very acidic, or clay soils; relatively salt-tolerant.

Note: Not affected by powdery mildew.
