Simple-leaved Astilbe

Family: Saxifragaceae. Native to northeastern China and Korea.

It has glossy green undivided leaves with a coarsely serrated margin. White flowers bloom in July–August, gathered in pyramidal nodding panicles. There are cultivars with flowers of various colors, for example, 'Dunkellachs'.
