Tropical Acidanthera
A. alquinoctialis Baker
Family Iridaceae. Native to Ethiopia.
Plant 110-130 cm tall. Leaves many-ribbed. Inflorescence two-sided, of 5-6 flowers. Perianth segments white with raspberry or purple spots; tube long (10-12 cm). Corm large.
Bailey (Bailey, 1953) considers that this may be a tropical and taller-growing form of A. bicolor.
Best results are obtained when grown in a greenhouse.
