Chinese Red Tree

This species, a close relative of Taxodium and Sequoia, was discovered in 1941 and was first described in botany in 1944 by two Chinese, and in 1945 by the head of the Arnold tree nursery. Until then the Chinese tree was known only from fossil finds.
