Dove tree

A rare tree for parks and large gardens; in its native range it reaches 20 m in height. The globular flowers are surrounded by two opposite large white bracts of different lengths; flowering period is May–June. Prefers fertile, not too dry soil and a slightly sheltered sunny or semi-shaded position.
