Back to catalogue
Mountains of Europe and Western Asia. 25-30 (-40) m in height and 15-20 (-25) m in width, native, calcicole (lime-loving), tolerant of pollution, picturesque, a magnificent large-sized tree with a powerful, dome-shaped crown. Freely standing specimens, especially in mountainous areas, have the greatest aesthetic value. Peeling, in old age silvery-orange-brown scaly bark. Branches grey-green or olive-green. An excellent tree for plantings in parks and along avenues, on fresh meadow soil and in a sunny or semi-shaded position with humid air.
